April for Sagittarius

As Jupiter, ruler of your sign, turns retrograde this month, I’m not surprised that your cards reflect this trend. There is a distinct theme of navel-gazing emerging from your reading that indicates hesitation on your part to make a bold move of some sort, perhaps venture into unknown territory, or make a sales pitch to a wider audience because something is still not good enough. You might be studying something new, working on some creation, or working on yourself in some way, yet it feels like a work in progress STILL! Perfectionism is a virtue but also often an impediment to going forth and conquering. What standards are you employing to assess the quality of your work in the first place? Why look to established norms or the works of those who have preceded you when what you have to offer could be something completely new and a standard in and of itself? The card that jumped out to give an additional message also advises you to stop focusing on what you lack and become more mindful of what you do! Focusing on the absence of something can colour our entire experience of life. To paraphrase Jean-Paul Sartre, if you walk into a coffee shop expecting to see the friend you had planned to meet at that time, then the absence of the friend makes the coffee shop simply a place where someone isn’t. You would experience the coffee shop quite differently, perhaps pay more attention to their cake counter, or the art on the walls, if you were to enter it on a whim instead of due to planned date. I don’t have Sartre’s way with words but hopefully you get the point. There might be something quite inspiring and exciting right under your nose waiting to be discovered if only you would stop obsessing with half-empty glasses and the need for everything to be great.

Generalised tarot readings such as this, written for everyone under one Sun sign,  present archetypal energies that may or may not play out for you, depending on your personal context. Therefore, if this message does not apply to you, I recommend checking out one’s Moon sign and Ascendant sign tarotscope as well (because the message you need just might be there or emerge as a combination instead).

  1. I enjoyed reading this 🙂 though i will mention that when Satre was saying this about the absence of a friend, it was in regards to their absence during German occupation. They were abscent because of the war, and thus it left a deeper, more disturbing imprint on those who were. I look forward to more of your posts!

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂 Is this the same reference we are talking about…about Pierre? (Sorry I’m not too well versed in Sartre actually, nor can I say I understand him very much really). I have him as part of my course work in phenomenology. His writing on ‘Pierre is not here’ (also ‘I have no money’, from Being and Nothingness) is part of our psychology program. I’d love to know more though!

A penny for your thoughts my dear?
