2019 for Leo

Hi Leo,

Happy New Year! For your 2019 tarotscope I pulled 13 cards, 12 that correspond to respective areas of human life represented as ‘houses’ in the typical astrological natal chart, and one that represents the overarching theme of 2019 for you. Given below is a diagram of a natal chart explaining the various houses so that you may have a better understanding of the cards I have pulled pertaining to each. Astrologers use this chart to divide the planets and constellations that appeared in the sky at the moment you were born in order to derive corresponding potentialities for your life in various areas. So, typically, this chart with the houses contains a map of the planets with their exact degrees as well as the zodiac constellations as they were placed starting from the one that was rising on the Eastern horizon. Please note that the house meanings given here are not an exhaustive list and therefore I may mention themes pertaining to houses that do not show up in this example graphic.  Given below the chart image is your reading for 2019! May it be a good one for you!

Your 2019 Tarotscope

emperor1st house matters: You have in your control a powerful energy this year to materialise whatever goal or structure you wish to. Not to say there won’t be challenges, but like the Emperor of the Tarot, you will be able to overcome them and even turn them to your advantage. This year could see many of you start your own business, get an important promotion, or even acquire property. For some of you, a father or authority figure wields an important influence over your biggest decisions. Your fitness levels will benefit from discipline and strength exercises (if you present health permits).

Knight of Pentacles2nd house matters: A project that promised to be an additional source of income may not quite take off just now. Or this card could indicate you taking a close look at your finances and pausing endeavours that require more money than you can expend at present. It could also mean that you are redirecting your funds from one project to another. You might also want to take a look at the returns you are getting on investments such as fixed deposits and savings as it may reveal a need for you to rethink ways to make the best possible use of your accumulated wealth. Also, there are new beginnings in your 11th house matters that might be the reason why things are slowing down for you in this sector — but it’s for happy reasons!

8 of swords3rd house matters: You are coming out of period when you felt restricted, fearful, anxious or confined in your neighbourhood, or perhaps in the way you communicated with others (which is quite unlike a Leo, but then perhaps you went through such a phase temporarily?). If you found it difficult to express your needs or concerns to siblings, workmates or friends, that will change too. In some ways this is about recognising that sometimes your fears are necessary course corrections that help you to modify and even evolve your methods and the way you adapt to your local environs. There is something in between ‘fight’ and ‘flight’, and that is a response that you are beginning to discover for yourself. If you aren’t working with this energy you could find yourself stagnating where you are, paralysed by your thoughts. But the Emperor in the first house indicates you will do the right and brave thing. Also, if you face ‘transmission’ errors of any sort, get your vehicle or devices checked out for repair, don’t just splurge on new purchases.

4 of swords4th house matters: There may have been some hurt that you experienced in connection with your family, community or your culture of origin. This would have been something in the recent past. Perhaps you experienced a loss, a betrayal, or disillusionment. Now is the time to come out of that funky state. You will start to feel better…but only if you don’t dwell on issues, over-analyzing and ruing the mistakes you made. Now is the time for you to step out and face a brand new day.

7 of cups5th house matters: A little bit of escapism and whimsy never hurt anyone, but this card here depicts the dangers of over-indulging to the point of greed. Always chasing after the next awesome idea, lover or role will ultimately get you nowhere. You are advised this year to stick with your ongoing projects and romances and not fall prey to  the “what ifs” and fleeting trends. You will have plenty of avenues to experience romance, express yourself creatively, take a gamble, and receive ego-validation…choose carefully, focus on the long-term potential of what you have before you. Some of you might gravitate towards auctions and illusionist shows this year, which is great, but others of you could be tempted to over-do mind-altering substances, which is not so good. If you have children you might want to get their vision tested.

8 of Cups6th house matters: The card in your house of routines, medical and financial issues, and daily drudgery pretty much continues the message from the 5th house. Resist the urge this year to ‘follow your heart’ or rather your whims, and be disciplined about completing the projects you started and commitments you made before setting off towards new opportunities. Saturn transiting through this house of your generally rewards those who put up with the dullness of labour and put in the toil to complete things, no matter how slowly. Don’t fear that the opportunities appearing now won’t ever come back again, be concerned more of how your investment of time and money will come to nothing if you simply move on from something that has become a chore. Also, you might need to check the tendency this year to expect perfection from your emotional associations as it will only lead to discord.

king of wands7th house matters: Your partners, professional or romantic, might pose some challenges for you this year. Perhaps they find it difficult to deal with your decisive, almost imperious, manner at this time. But that is not your problem. People you collaborate with might either have ego problems with you, or needlessly dig their heels in with you. You could also find them being extra bossy or wilful to the point of disorder. Might it be that they are the problem, or are they simply mirroring your attitude towards them. In all your dealings, a gentle touch get the ball rolling farther than pushiness. It might be difficult to summon, but tolerance and patience will win you the support you need.

King of Cups8th house matters: This is a wonderful card for you to receive in this position. It indicates either that after some emotional turmoil in the recent past you are reaching a level of mastery over your emotions, or that there is someone with whom you share your finances or deep secrets with who has your back and provides you with affection and comfort. But I will warn you against pursuing a sexual liaison with someone who comes across as a loving, gentle, almost paternalistic figure, should your current partnership be failing, simply because while this card denotes positive sexual healing in this position, but your 5th house indicates that your participation in this union might distract you from your current engagements. Some of you might have a secret admirer (could be a Scorpio).

Queen of Cups9th house matters: An intuitive, philosophical, emotional, creative person who identifies as female and is probably a Water sign (Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces), will serve an important role in your life this year, providing you guidance when you need it. If you know such a person, consult them whenever you feel stuck. If you don’t know them yet, you might encounter them on your travels or at an institution, organisation, library, or some other ‘temple’ of knowledge.

10th house matters: A new idea, campaign, or trend could capture the imagination of the organisation where you work or that you lead. Whereas in your 5th house the advice was to steer clear of new trends etc. that don’t carry lasting value, in this sector you are advised to keep an open mind and indeed, act upon new ideas or opportunities to expand.  Give young talent a chance too. The difference between your 5th house and 10th house is that, the 5th house deals with that which validates your self-image, the 10th house deals with that which would benefit your career or status. Chasing the fresh, the new, the daring are highly recommended for your career but not for ego strokes. Also, if you are offered a slightly different role or responsibility at work, take it on for the sake of the new learning it will bring.

ace-of-pentacles11th house matters: You might receive inspiration to start a new investment in a market you haven’t explored before, or enter the marketplace with a new product, or you might get connected to people who can offer you new business or earning opportunities. Aces in tarot are stirrings from within, so pay special attention to your inner voice if it tells you to explore something in the aforementioned areas or if you feel the urge to attend an event. Translating this inspiration or potential to material reality will require some discipline and focus on your part; it will also take some time before something concrete can come of this new concept, network or revenue stream.

Hermit12th house matters: With the master illusionist Rahu (or North Node) transiting this sector in your chart this year you are more susceptible than at any other time to receiving divine guidance from the wrong sources — not every pattern you see is a ‘sign’. Guard also against superstition or falling for the advice of those who exalt themselves as hermits, shamans or fakirs. Getting misguided by the wrong sources might prevent you from receiving the important messages your ancestors or guardians might be trying to get across. Perhaps that is why you need the assistance of the individual mentioned in your 9th house. Also, at this time you might be tempted to treat yourself to extra sleep or holiday retreats but if it is not absolutely necessary, Rahu might be tricking you into getting lazy and neglecting your duties.

MoonOverall theme: The Moon card in the tarot is not the happiest card to receive but it bears a monumental message for those it comes to. Just as the Moon shines only by reflected light, so too this card talks of the illusory nature of reality that tends to reflect what goes on in our own soul. This card comes to you this year to tell you that perhaps the negativity you might see in the people and things around you is just a mirror for your own fears and anxieties. Anxiety and fear are generated when we are afraid of loss, when we attach our sense of self too much to our material reality. There might be times this year when your emotions get the better of you causing confusion, suspicion, and a feeling of isolation, these are the times when you will be challenged to rise above materiality and see world through the dispassionate eyes of the eternal soul you actually are. When you have nothing, you have nothing to lose. By all means, work towards realising your goals but don’t make it a life-or-death issue.

Have a happy 2019 and see you next month with the regular monthly tarotscopes! 🙂
