Happy New Year! For your 2019 tarotscope I pulled 13 cards, 12 that correspond to respective areas of human life represented as ‘houses’ in the typical astrological natal chart, and one that represents the overarching theme of 2019 for you. Given below is a diagram of a natal chart explaining the various houses so that you may have a better understanding of the cards I have pulled pertaining to each. Astrologers use this chart to divide the planets and constellations that appeared in the sky at the moment you were born in order to derive corresponding potentialities for your life in various areas. So, typically, this chart with the houses contains a map of the planets with their exact degrees as well as the zodiac constellations as they were placed starting from the one that was rising on the Eastern horizon. Please note that the house meanings given here are not an exhaustive list and therefore I may mention themes pertaining to houses that do not show up in this example graphic. Given below the chart image is your reading for 2019! May it be a good one for you!
Your 2019 Tarotscope
1st house matters: With wise Jupiter (the guiding light of your sign) here to support your Sun this year you are sharp as a blade and ready to take decisive action towards achieving everything you wish to achieve. Your mind is clear, and you have support of divine forces to aid you in your endeavours. If you have been contemplating elective surgery or body transformation of any sort, you are blessed on that front too. The path ahead may not be entirely free of obstacles, but single-minded focus will help you make painful decisions with ease in order to get where you want to. And with Jupiter’s munificence you’ll do it without causing others more hurt than is absolutely necessary.
2nd house matters: Your aims and ambitions are set to translate into financial benefits too. It seems as if the general changes you wish to make to your life, or the inspirations you receive, have a connection to your values, what you view as important in terms of material well-being and therefore, also to the means by which you make your livelihood. This year could see you ascend to an important position (or switch industries to), one which requires mental acuity and expertise of some sort. Otherwise, a person identifying as male in such a position or with such qualities could be instrumental in helping you achieve that which you wish to this year.
3rd house matters: Disarray and disorder in the neighbourhood, or trouble with messy or nosy neighbours could contribute to your decision to relocate to some place that is greener, lusher or in some way more pleasurable to the senses. (The next section also mentions another, much nicer, reason for relocation coming up for you possibly). Or may it’s just practical matters that require you to move base. Also watch out for misunderstandings and miscommunication with your female sibling, childhood friend or with someone (at work or elsewhere) who may seem stubborn and materialistic. They will be someone who identifies as female; and some of them probably see you as competition of some sort at the workplace or wherever.
4th house matters: For those of you who are single, or otherwise in unhappy relationships, this year you could meet ‘the One’ with whom you could see yourself settling down (in whatever way restless Sagittarius sees settling down!). Some of you might move in with their partners too. Otherwise, those of you living singly could contemplate flat-sharing as a living arrangement. Any of the above scenarios would most likely require you to move out of where you currently are. Living together could be a beautiful way to get to know each other better, for better or for worse! But mostly I’m seeing heart-melting twinning vibes.
5th house matters: As much as Jupiter is the planet of guidance, he is also the king of good times. And in this important year when his blessings could get you that big break you’ve been looking for, it might be important to check your overindulgences in pleasure activities. This card here indicates a tendency to overdo the fun just a tad too much. Stay a little sober and present, stay a little grounded too — it will help you achieve big milestones in your creative endeavours or projects that bring you pride. Don’t overindulge your children at the cost of discipline either. Invest your time wisely in ultimately productive ventures. Beware too of lucky streaks that mislead you to incur losses of some kind in speculative activities.
6th house matters: As fine as this year is shaping up to be there are still some precautions you need to take to make this a fantastic year. For one, double check all the information and sources you use for anything. For two, be careful with whom you share your information. Three: you could be susceptible to gossip or covert online attacks or even a scam. Four: check your negative thoughts. Lastly, a child close to you could be susceptible to ailments related to breathing, or those brought on by air pollution or communicable disease (therefore, take steps to strengthen their immunity already).
7th house matters: There are two distinct trends showing up with this card here in your house of partnerships, legal contracts, and open enemies. You could either find someone who feels like much-needed sanctuary, or you could be rethinking an association, realising there are many little problems with it that you have ignored so far, but that are beginning to become big issues. In the case of open enemies or contentious legal situations, you have victory on your side (but make sure that victory is just and secured with minimal hurt to the other party or it could backfire in the future). In some cases, a decision you take for yourself could have a knock-on effect on your partnerships and put them on ice for now till the other party decides what to do in the light of new information.
8th house matters: 2019 looks like a great year for you to delve into the occult, explore esoterica, study psychology, or in general experience the great mysteries more intimately. This could also indicate a time of observation rather than action, which will serve you well in your endeavours. You might not mind the sacrifice you need to make (of time, money or present position) to enter the realm of that which remains unknown but deeply seductive to you. For some of you this is a good time to get therapy or quit a bad habit cold turkey (this also applies to quitting toxic sexual liaisons). Celibacy might show you life through a new lens too…try it! Be wary of over-promising financial schemes (you might end up losing all your money); some of you might be hung out to dry by someone you hold joint accounts with, but this will ultimately be enlightening. Also, it could be your partner who has the financial troubles and you might need to assist them in getting sorted.
BTW, this is a beautiful card to get for the 8th house as the Hanged Man, according to one school of thought, pertains to Odin of Norse mythology choosing to sacrifice an eye and hang upside down from his abode in Yggdrasil, or the World Tree, for nine whole days of fasting, in order to be able to look beneath the ground into the roots of the tree where the secret of the runes lay. It was this act of his that brought knowledge of the divinatory power of the runes to the world of humans. As 8th house too pertains to the netherworld, the place that holds secrets and gems, this card is a promising sign, wouldn’t you say?
9th house matters: An education or distant journey you planned to take for personal or professional enrichment may not deliver the kind of benefits you thought it would after all. It could be that a change in the global financial or material climate could negatively impact your plans. But with Jupiter on your side this year you have the power to convert this too into a victory. Think of any setback in this area therefore as more of a course correction than anything else (see 8th house for suggestions on what you could explore or study instead).
10th house matters: In a twist unexpected by others you could take the high road and choose to leave a job or career that does not feel like your calling even if it means breaking bonds or going jobless. People may have assumed your loyalty to a certain organisation, person or place in the world but privately you’ve known differently, only now it shall become known. Avoid getting embroiled in workplace politics and when faced with any difficult, life-changing choice, go with what is right not what is correct.
11th house matters: Perhaps as a ramification of your 9th and 10th house events or perhaps as part of a general trend of striking out on your own, it seems as if you are going to be on the move again, looking for people to connect with, communities and networks to be part of, that are closer to your ideal of whom you wish to associate with. For some of you, some friends and associates are leaving your sphere: those with whom you felt you shared a deep bonhomie. Conversely, perhaps it is time to look at your life patterns and see whether constantly changing goals, frequently changing plans, thinly spread social activities are depriving you of some stability one needs to attract like-minded people to one’s cause and life. Also, if you’re planning or are part of a big group event, conference, or ceremony, check all the details lest a nasty surprise creep up on you.
12th house matters: As I said at the beginning of your reading, you are unusually sharp this year so you will keep a tight grip on expenses and keen eye on loopholes to prevent any serious expenses or losses from occurring. However, if you wish to ‘lose yourself’ in a new country, in someone’s bedroom, in purple haze or in some other world, you might find it slightly difficult to do. This could also translate into creative blocks, or difficulty feeling sexual desire (proverbially ‘getting it up’). As logical and sharp as you are this year, it seems as if that part of you that is boundless and ethereal is getting compromised — dream activity may be less than inspiring too. But look at your 8th house and you will note that this year, it’s not the music of the spheres that is calling out to you, but the songs of Orpheus ringing out from Hades. Go deeper underground in 2019, that is where all the wonder is. The secrets of the magus await you.
Overall theme: This year holds the potential for you to experience the joyful trinity of the Graces, Splendour, Mirth, and Good Cheer. However, it will require some work on your part to achieve this. If your life is lacking in any of these areas, take a shrewd look at what is draining rather than providing. How you go about achieving emotional satisfaction, and even how you define it, plays an important role in what you ultimately get out of your pleasure and emotional pursuits. There is also a message of overkill here — living solely for pleasure may ironically deprive you of it. Decadence can be enervating. And three is a crowd sometimes. Spread yourself too thinly, or chase superficial joy and love, and all you end up with are headaches, bills and situationships.
Have a happy 2019 and see you next month with the regular monthly tarotscopes! 🙂
