OMG, Scorpio! Your cards could not have been a more textbook representation of the planetary energies in October — specifically Venus’ retrograde transit that begins in your sign! Do read the intro of this month’s tarotscope post for more information on this very important period. But specifically for you, the theme of this time is straight out of an astrologer’s handbook. The Empress card in the Rider-Waite deck is literally Venus, and showing up in reverse for you!!
There could be a strong feeling of ‘lack’ overtaking you in areas pertaining to material satisfaction, self-image, comforts, pleasures, feeling loved, health, possessions, or any other ‘possession’ (such as your children) that you ego-identify with too much. At the root of this unease or ‘lack’ mentality is an imbalance (personal or relational) that is preventing you from being able to materialise your desires in an effective way. It could be that on paper you have it all, but in real life, it feels like nothing. This could also be about a failed contract, agreement or partnership from the past that continues to cast its shadow over your present such that in comparison to what you think was denied to you, nothing in the present pleases. You could also feel like nothing good ever happens to you.
If the above does not describe you, then your troubles with a ‘matriarchal’ or female authority figure in your life could be attributed to their state of mind as described above.
While this may be a time when you may not feel very comfortable in your skin or in your material reality, this is a great time to clear out the clutter of accumulated junk and useless relationships that, unbeknown to you, might be insidiously devitalising. This is also a good time for a detox. Fasting, abstinence, going cold turkey, could all serve you well.
Beware though, feeling as at odds as you might be this month with things, of overcompensating perceived deprivation with needless indulgences or self-indulgent displays of self-worth to others. This may feed into the not-so-great energy of this time and distract you from positive potentials.
This is not a good time to start anything new or expect fruition, but it is a nice time to express gratitude and appreciate all that you do have. Don’t be a sucker for false praise.

Since general readings don’t apply to everyone in the exact same way, please take what meaning you can from the general theme implied by these readings, in whichever area of life it plays out for you. Sometimes, your Rising sign or Moon sign reading might apply to you better (Get your Rising sign here: https://cafeastrology.com/whats-my-ascendant-sign.html, and scroll down the page for the Moon sign calculator as well).
